Youth Recreational League
About the league
Recreational youth hockey for all ages and skill levels. Each season we take returning players along with any new players and conduct a draft. Not unlike like the NHL! Silver Creek Sportsplex does not carry over the same teams from season to season. This way the players have a chance to meet a lot of other players and build new relationships as they go from season to season. Team Jerseys provided. Each team plays 10 games and all teams make the playoffs.

Player Placement
Players will be placed on teams through a blind draft. Players are placed in the blind draft by age and skill level to make every attempt to level the playing field between teams in each age division. The League Director reserves the right to adjust teams as deemed necessary. Siblings in the same age group will be permitted to play on the same team. The Coach's child will be placed with him/her. Female players will be permitted to play in a lower division by request from the parents to the League Director by email.
Team Structure
Each team will have a maximum of 12 skaters and goalie (if available). All youth leagues strive for equal playing time.
League Format
All games and practices are at Silver Creek Sportsplex. You will be contacted by our automated e-mailer with the team your player is on and the first game time. All teams will make the playoffs (schedule to be announced). Some Saturdays will not have regular games, due to previously scheduled events.
Games Format
Games are usually played on Saturdays; between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Note that some games may need to be played on Sundays. Games are 3-15 minute periods. In the event of a tie after the 3rd period, a 3min/3on3 overtime will be played. If the score is still tied a 3 man shoot out will commence and continue into a sudden death shoot out. Player stats, team standings and season schedules are kept and updated on the MySAM system weekly
