Open House December 6... Invite a friend! This weekend is our quarterly Open House - a great day to bring a friend to the Plex!
It's the first weekend of the new Youth Soccer
season, playoffs for our Recreational Youth Roller Hockey, and you can
check out Mighty Cubs, Lacrosse, Martial Arts, and Dance as
well. Local vendors will be on-site displaying their
products and services, so you can pick up a few holiday gifts.
And of course, there are fun activities for the whole family, including
Open play at LOL Parties (9:30 am - noon) and Open skating at Rollin' Ice (1:00 pm -2:00 pm)!
Youth
hockey players - signups close Dec. 7 for the winter season. If
you are a current customer, bring in a new customer on Dec. 6 - if you
both sign up on Dec. 6, you'll both receive the sibling discount of
$30. May not be combined with any other discount.

Gift the gift of life - give blood!
Also
during our Open House, Stanford Blood Center will be in Event Room
101. We still have a lot of open slots, so PLEASE consider making
an appointment today! You can schedule it for before the
kids' games, or while they play at LOL Parties or skate at Rollin' Ice!

Operation Santa
We are once again pleased to help the Children's Shelter
Association provide gifts for children placed in the Children's
Shelter, foster care, and/or relative home placement. If
you'd like to help make the holidays special for one of these children
(from infants to 18 years old), please check out the trees set up at
Striker's Den, Rollin' Ice, and Club One. Take a tag with a
child's name and age, and bring it back with a new, unwrapped gift for
that child, by December 14. Thank you!

March of Dimes skate-a-thon a hit!
Many
thanks to everyone who participated in the Nov. 30 skate-a-thon &
skills competition to benefit the March of Dimes! We're pleased
to partner with Chain Reaction, the local March of Dimes youth council,
to help raise money for this important cause. If you missed it
but would still like to contribute, you can do so online (thank you!) Hope to see you at the next skate-a-thon, December 26 !

New membership rates and Member Advantage card
Beginning
Jan. 1, 2009, we will be implementing a new membership program.
When you purchase an annual membership ($99), you will receive a Member Advantage card
with 20 punches that can be used toward pickup hockey, pickup
soccer, open skating, open play, drop-in classes, members-only pro shop
specials, and more. Members also receive significant discounts on leagues, camps, classes, rentals, and even parties
at LOL Parties--with a total possible value of more than $800!
The seasonal membership will be $45, and does not include the Member
Advantage card.

Mark your calendar for the January 10 Crab Feed
to benefit the Dream On Foundation
The
Dream On Foundation has just completed funding of their first round of
grants, and the board is happy to report that after being in existence
just a few months, the Foundation has been able to provide financial
support to players in roller hockey, ice hockey, soccer,
volleyball, martial arts, bowling, and competitive cheerleading!
The Jan. 10 crab feed will be held at High Five at the Plex and
feature "all you can eat" crab, pasta, prize drawings, an auction, and
plenty of fun! The Sharks will be playing the Canucks on TV and
there will be High School hockey on the rinks. Don't miss it!
