Join our holiday drives!
Next time you come in, you may notice a few new items at the Silver Creek Sportsplex!
We're
participating in two holiday drives--we know that together with our
wonderful members, we can make a positive difference in the lives of
people in our community.
OPERATION SANTA - benefits the Santa Clara County Children's Shelter Association
The tree in the main entrance
is filled with tags indicating a child's name and age. Take one
and help us provide gifts for children placed in shelters, foster care
and/or relative home placement (girls and boys from birth to 16 years
old). Please take a tag from the tree in the main entrance, and
bring your new, unwrapped gifts to the check-in desk at Rollin' Ice or
Strikers' Den. There is a flyer containing wish list of toy/gift
suggestions, too - or see it here.
CANNED FOOD DRIVE - benefits the 2nd Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
The familiar barrels are front and center by the check-in desks at
Rollin' Ice and Striker's Den. This holiday season, help us to
help stop hunger in our community. Help us reach our goal of 15
barrels! So pick up a few extra items at the grocery store, and
next time you come in for a practice or a game, bring a few cans with
you. It's such an easy thing to do, and it makes a huge difference.
Most needed items are:
- Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
- Tuna/canned meat
- Peanut Butter
- Canned foods (with pop-top lids)
- Low-sugar cereal
- 100% Fruit juices (single serving boxes)
- Canned fruit (packed in juice)
- Canned vegetables (low salt)
